Although she has not played surrogate mother to the four Bengal tiger cubs, but the news about this German Shepherd Dog taking care of the four ill-fated little creatures has spread out like fire. The news of the female German Shepherd Dog feeding four Bengal tiger cubs has created a buzz amongst the breed lovers all over the world. It happened at the zoo of Taiyuan, capital of north China's Shanxi Province, on July 8, 2010. The cubs were born on June 20, 2010 and had been refused by their mother. The zoo staff could manage to find a female German Shepherd Dog, who had just given birth to a puppy around a week ago. The zoo staff tactically introduced the tiger babies to the German Shepherd, who accepted the cubs as if her own. She proved that sense of motherhood in hidden in the souls of all animals - irrespective of species and varieties. The tiger cubs were lucky to find a mother like her, who fed them with love and care.
Such news of incidences of German shepherd Dog having acted as mother to orphaned animals of other and same species is not the first time on the planet. Veterinary Robert Zammit's female German Shepherd Dog, Pepper, provided TLC (Tender Loving Care) to some of the orphaned tiger cubs. Dr. Zammit said, "Pepper, has been watching over them while they've been here and they all play happily together... She has taken up many of the normal housekeeping duties of the cubs' parents".
